These fighters, however, were built specially to reconaissance missions, as well as chasing down warheads and hunting down bombers. For these functions, Diamondjacks are equipped with the lightest hull frame, most powerful proton engines, and minimized firepower just enough to destroy warheads and bombers. As a result, the maximum speed of Diamondjacks can outrun most warheads and normally, no fighters in any armies could match the speed of Diamondjacks. However, these blessing of speed results a sacrifice in manuverability, defensive countermeasures, and offensive weaponries.

Too bad Terrans don't have stuff like this when the alien invaders arrived in Falling Skies, these fighters might have stood a chance against the Overlords' air ships. They also look like assuming Humanity does defeat the Fish-Heads (Overlords) and their enslaved soldiers and robots, what we'd get if we reverse engineer any of their attack ships and rebuild them for our use against any Fish-Heads' future attempts at invasion.
