AF Universe - Storm Cruise

In the planet Neo-Earth, before the Anneron attack in 2512, Terran star superiority forces (TSSF) lacks a firepower on the fighter side. There are four mainstay starfighters, two of them are bombers. The light, recon fighters are called Harrier. Medium, standard Stellar superiority Fighter are Falcon. As for the bombers, TSSF has light, hit-and-run bombers called Swallow and heavy bomber called Albatross.

There's a need for TSSF to have a fighter that could have more firepower that enough to take down at least corvette class capital ships. Although Swallows could took down corvette and destroyer classes, their capability for engaging fighter-to-fighter battles are far below average. For this reason, TSSF make a contract with Council R&D (The Terrans main research and development laboratory) to build a fighter that met with their requirements.

This fighter, passed the first test, which is cruising under the worst weather conditions with excellent grades. With such achievements, pilots called it Thunderbird, a bird that could safely navigate the storm and dangerous.
